# ElseKept 1.0.12

ElseKept 1.0.12 hardens the browser handoff used when connecting cloud
storage.

## What is new

- Dropbox and Google authorization now share one explicit system-browser
  launcher.
- ElseKept verifies that macOS has registered another application to handle the
secure HTTPS authorization URL before opening it.
- Authorization still uses PKCE and returns to ElseKept only through the
  validated provider callback.
- Google Drive uses the production Google Drive Desktop registration. Dropbox
uses a public native-client flow restricted to one App Folder. Both keep
offline refresh credentials in the local Keychain.
- A single USD 9.99 purchase provides a signed personal license and lifetime
access to the ElseKept 1.x release line, with no subscription or application
  telemetry.
- Signed update metadata and immutable release artifacts provide optional
update prompts with release notes, published directly on `elsekept.com`
  without GitHub Actions.

This update does not expand provider permissions or change existing encrypted
backups, Recovery Kits, or saved storage connections.

Recovery remains available without a valid license.
